Several deaths are shown gleefully playing instruments amid the graves of a cemetery, summoning people to attend their doom. The message is that all life eventually ends, and this is in fact the central theme of the Dance of Death, which serves as a sort of memento mori, remind us all of the fact that life is fleeting.
